LATEST NEWS FROM CAMDEN GARDEN CENTRE

Our new mezzanine floor is well and truly open for business! Our garden centre building is very tall so it was inevitable that we would build a second floor at some stage to make best use of the space and it’s all happening now.

The mezzanine structure itself was built over the Chrismas to New Year break 2007 with suspended ceiling and lights added a week later. A lift to gives access to the new floor for our disabled customers and those who are unable to use the new stairs.

The floor houses a much needed training room for our trainees and staff for quiet study, training and assessment. We also use it for gardening courses in the spring and autumn . Enrol on the course by downloading a form from our home page.

At the same time we offer a fantastic new range of garden furniture, barbeques and accessories and for the first time an outstanding Christmas showroom (from mid October)!! There is also be much more room at ground level to make it easier to get round and browse from our exciting ranges of gardening products.

We are absolutely delighted to have been given another prestigious award this year – ‘Most Outstanding Commitment to Education and Training in Horticulture’. This honour was presented to us at the annual Horticulture Week Awards – the Oscars of the UK horticultural industry - at the swish Hurlingham Club in West London and acknowledges the special work which we do to provide education, employment and training opportunities to local disadvantaged people. The picture shows Peter Hulatt, Camden Garden Centre Managing Director and Mike Jackson, Camden Garden Centre, Head of Social Enterprise Development and Training, receiving the Award from Jeremy Vine, broadcaster and Simon Thornton of the Royal Horticultural Society.

Thank you to all our loyal customers who have supported us for the last twenty years - it is only through your support that we are able to undertake our desperately needed social purpose activities.
