Camden Garden Centre is an unusual
Garden Centre. We not only supply plants and gardening products
of the broadest range and of excellent quality and give expert
guidance and customer advice but we are also a charitable
organisation offering employment, training and educational
opportunities and donate funds to our parent charity, The
Southern Task Educational Trust.

Our training scheme has been tremendously
successful. Since we opened in 1982 we have helped more than
130 trainees from a variety of backgrounds - the long-term
unemployed, those with a general lack of confidence, homeless
people, ex-offenders, people with physical and learning disabilities
and people recovering from alcohol and drug dependency.
Many of our trainees have gone on to
set up their own successful businesses, ranging from floristry
to landscape gardening. Others have used their time here as
a stepping-stone to further qualifications and employment,
mainly in horticulture but also in other areas. We are approved
by OCR as a training and assessment centre and offer NVQs
in Retail and Customer Service in house.
